From January to March 31, 2009 the Talkline received 718,895 calls of which 272,787 (37.9%) are answered. More than 60% of the calls are not answered due to less number of counselors to manage the high volume of incoming calls and calls registered outside the working hours. Among the served callers, 85.2% were male and 14.8% female. In terms of marital status, 92.5% were never married and 7% married. Most of the callers (88.6%) used mobile phones and the remaining 10.8% used landlines to call 952.
