Free Anti-Retroviral Treatment Officially Launched in Ethiopia on January 24, 2005

Ethiopia launched a free antiretroviral treatment program on January 24, 2005. The program marked the launch of a series of important documents underpinning Ethiopia's fight against the HIV/AIDS epidemic.

The event included the launch of :

1. The Strategic Plan for Intensifying Multi-Sectoral HIV/AIDS Response for the years 2004-2008
2. The Social Mobilization Strategic Document
3. The Free Antiretroviral Treatment Program
4. The Antiretroviral Therapy Implementation Guideline
5. AIDS in Ethiopia Fifth Edition
