A booklet to inform People Living with HIV/AIDS (PLWHA) on how they should avoid simultaneous emotions, including fear, grief, depression, denial, anger and anxiety. It also provides strategies on how to lead healthy life through eating balanced diet, exercising every day, managing opportunistic infections and practicing safe sex.

Innovative Web Source On HIV Resistance
According to a 2004 publication in the journal AIDS, up to 76 percent of HIV-infected individuals failing treatment in the United States have a virus resistant to at least one anti-HIV medication. Virco Lab, Inc., a leader in HIV drug resistance testing, recently launched a website, www.resist-hiv.info, a single source for comprehensive HIV resistance information. The website content was developed from responses and recommendations from US-based HIV/AIDS treating physicians.

An HIV/AIDS manual designed for confronting HIV in places with few medical resources, this comprehensive manual is accessible to people without technical knowledge or prior training in HIV prevention or in the care of people with HIV/AIDS.

This report by Panos (www.panosaids.org) presents case studies from Ethiopia, Haiti, India, Nepal and Zambia look at the availability of antiretroviral therapy, and illustrate the obstacles that need to be overcome to ensure universal access.

Training manual on Nutritional Care and Support for PLWHA - Participant's Guide (4.63MB pdf format)
The manual includes fifty highly nutritional recipes on commonly used Ethiopian diets. It is prepared in three Ethiopian languages – Amharic, Oromiffa and Tigrigna, which will be available soon. The Ministry of Agriculture and Rural Development, HIV/AIDS Prevention and Control Office, Ministry of Health and FAO/Ethiopia jointly developed the manual.

HIV Medicine 2007 is the 15th edition of a medical textbook that provides a comprehensive and up-to-date overview of the treatment of HIV Infection.

Ethiopia National ART Strategic Communication Framework (March 2005) (744KB PDF format)
The framework is intended to be an integral part of larger HIV/AIDS programs and initiatives (ART, PMTCT, VCT, etc.) in Ethiopia, linked not only to MOH and HAPCO’s current initiatives, but also to the entire care continuum. Its outline is organized using a Communication Pathways Model for ART. The purpose of the national ART Strategic Communication Framework is to guide and support ART communication activities in Ethiopia. The framework identifies and prioritizes specific communication needs related to the ART rollout in the country. In addition, the framework provides a basis for harmonization of messages and coordination of partner efforts to address immediate priorities in the country’s effort to roll out ART to those infected and affected by HIV and AIDS.

Positive Development
The Global Network of People living with HIV/AIDS (GNP+) designed this manual to help people living with HIV/AIDS to become involved, establish or redirect their own groups, improve their capacities, or share their abilities with others. It is also useful for leading workshops and for trainers and facilitators who have been running groups for some time or who are helping others set-up their own groups.

Counselling guidelines on survival skills for people living with HIV (pdf format )
From SAT, this is the 5th publication in a series of guidelines for counselling people who are infected with HIV, who are concerned about being infected with HIV, or who are living with or caring for people with AIDS. The publications are designed for use by volunteer counsellors, non-professional counsellors, and professional counsellors who do not have extensive experience in counselling in the context of HIV/AIDS. This booklet deals with the following subjects: preparing for a counselling session, pre-test counselling, post-test counselling, stress management, disclosure of HIV status, treatment and medicines, nutrition, reproductive and sexual health, self awareness, supportive counselling, peer counselling, supporting the counsellor.
