AIDS in Africa: Three scenarios to 2005
UNAIDS, in collaboration with the
African Union, African Development Bank and the Economic Commission
for Africa, has organized the launch of the UNAIDS publication
“AIDS in Africa: Three scenarios to 2025” that
will take place on Friday 4 March 2005 at the United Nations
Conference Center in Addis Ababa, Ethiopia.
The publication is about AIDS and Africa, and the world’s
response to it. The document presents three stories describing
possible futures. Each of the three scenarios describes a
different, plausible way in which the AIDS epidemic could
play out across the whole of the African continent over the
next twenty years. These scenarios represent a crucial step
in making sense of the future of the AIDS epidemic in Africa.
