Description:

The Millenium Development Goals for Health: Rising to the Challenges provides data on the progress to date on the five health-related Millenium Development Goals:
· Reducing extreme poverty and hunger;
· Reducing the mortality rate of children under age five;
· Reducing maternal deaths;
· Fighting HIV/AIDS, malaria, and other diseases; and
· Improving access to water and sanitation
The book also brings together what is known about the constraints to faster progress and offers policies to address them. Finally it examines how the international community (and the World Bank in particular) might work better with countries to achieve the Millennium Development Goals
