The enormity of the global AIDS pandemic threatens to overwhelm us. More than 3 million people died of AIDS last year-about 8,000 per day- and another 5 million were infected with the pernicious HIV virus. And the numbers are growing.

So what role do we, the church, play in this growing crisis? The church must continue to give hope to the hopeless-those languishing alone. We must use the HIV/AIDS crisis to demonstrate the love of Christ by caring for AIDS sufferers, their family members, and their communities by whatever means available.
