Our
Programs
The EMSAP project
(Ethiopia multi sectoral AIDS Program)
The fundamental
objective of EMSAP is to reduce the spread of
the HIV/AIDS epidemic, alleviate its impact, and
increase access to treatment, care and support
for those infected and affected. EMSAP
has 4 components: Government expansion,
Emergency AIDS fund, Management and Coordination
and Capacity building. The Emergency AIDS Fund(
EAF) is
being implemented by a wide variety of public,
private, and non-governmental organizations,
both domestic and international, and by
community based organizations (CBOs) including
people living with HIV/AIDS (PLWHA)
The Global Fund
Global Fund was created to fight global
HIV/AIDS, TB, and malaria epidemics by sharing
resources and expertise across national
boundaries, between the private and public
sectors. The global fund covers all woredas
in program implementation and in terms of man
power it covers 83 woredas including the
regional secretariat.
SIDA
SIDA Amhara Rural Development Program, in
partnership with the Amhara HIV/AIDS Prevention
and Control Secretariat and other stakeholders,
has developed a HIV/AIDS intervention program as
an integral component of its rural development
activities in Amhara. The 4 year program with a
12 mil ETB budget will be implemented in 25
woredas of East Gojjam and South Wollo from
2004-2007.
Unicef
Our 5 year programme in 10 selected Amhara
woredas was designed to support government and
non-government partners to implement multi-sectoral
community interventions; reduce the spread of
HIV/AIDS among youth, women and vulnerable
groups; and increase access to care and support
for those children and families infected and
affected by HIV/AIDS
ActionAid
In an effort to help strengthen the Ethiopian
response to the HIV/AIDS pandemic, Action
Aid
Ethiopia with its 3 year SIPAA programme has
implemented activities in 8 selected woredas in
Amhara. Our purpose is to establish and
maintain processes by which all organizations
are able to work together more effectively,
enhance community-based response, greater
involvement of the private sector and religious
organizations, continuum of care and adoption of
best practices.
