Academy for Educational Development (AED) - USA

AED was one of the first organizations to develop communications and marketing-based HIV/AIDS and reproductive health strategies grounded in biological science. Since 1987, Africare has supported both national and local initiatives in Africa to combat the HIV/AIDS epidemic. Africare's HIV/AIDS Initiative includes programs in: HIV prevention and voluntary counseling and testing; care and support for people already infected with HIV or suffering from AIDS; and assistance to orphans.

CARE has recently established an HIV/AIDS Unit to respond to the epidemic. Its community-based approach, in partnership with the public and private sector and funding from donor agencies, is helping to alleviate the burden of HIV/AIDS, particularly in Africa. Global AIDS Program (Global Health Council) - USA

The Global AIDS Program, operated by the Global Health Council, educates and advocates on issues concerning those most affected by HIV/AIDS. The Global AIDS Program includes the Global Fund on AIDS, Tuberculosis, and Malaria. The Global Health Council also maintains other documents related to HIV/AIDS that fall outside the purview of the Global AIDS Program.

People to People is a Non Governmental Organization (NGO) governed by a Board of Directors. It was founded in 1999 and licensed in state of Kentucky as a non-profit organization. People to People publish the biyearly journal The Horn of Africa Journal of AIDS. The site also contains news, medial information and a virtual clinic supported by volunteer medical doctor. People to People aims to bring hope to those who find themselves in hopeless situations brought about by the HIV/AIDS epidemic currently sweeping through Sub-Saharan Africa.

Horizons Project (Population Council) - USA

Horizons is a team of US and international organizations, directed by the Population Council, working to prevent the spread of HIV/AIDS and mitigate its impact on individuals and communities. Its principal activities are field-based, applied operations research in developing countries, as well as capacity-building. Available on this site are program and research descriptions, as well as relevant in-house publications on HIV/AIDS and behavior change. AIDSQuest, a searchable survey database, is also available through this site.

International Council of AIDS Services Organizations (ICASO) - International

The website of this UNESCO-supported international coalition of organizations contains official position statements and documents on drug availability, human rights of people living with HIV/AIDS, advocacy, and vaccine development. Programs for Appropriate Technologies in Health (PATH) - USA

PATH offers technologies and program strategies to prevent and control the spread of HIV/AIDS and STIs. These technologies include non-reusable syringes, condom quality assurance, and rapid, low-cost diagnostic tests for infection.
